What the televisions are running

Both boards are on High Vis, which is the only palette. The owner chose it on 2026-09-05 after comparing four on these panels.

The kiosk opens the URLs in kiosk/boards.json and those carry no query string, so a board shows the default until the default itself is changed. That file lives on the mini PC in the shop and nothing on this page can read it, so this states what the kiosk config in the repository says rather than what that machine is actually loading. If a television disagrees with this line, the machine is the thing to check.

Setting up the mini PC

Download the kiosk setupsubmakers-kiosk.zip

Run once at the machine, with every television on. It puts a big number on each screen, asks which number is showing on the television for each board, and writes down the physical video output behind each answer, so the boards find their televisions again after Windows renumbers the displays. After that, one click opens every board on the right screen.

Windows will block it unless you do this first. Save the file, then right click the zip → Properties → tick Unblock → OK, and only then extract it. Windows marks anything downloaded from the internet and refuses to run it; unblocking the zip before extracting clears the mark from everything inside. If you extract first and then unblock, you have to unblock every file separately.

Then open the folder and double click Setup Boards (dry run).cmd. It asks the same questions but writes nothing, so you can see what it would do. When that looks right, run Setup Boards.cmd for real.

If a television ever comes up saying it is not connected or a board opened on the wrong screen, that is this working: it refuses rather than guessing. Double click SubMakers Setup on the desktop, answer the questions, and click SubMakers Boards again.

First ran on the shop machine on 2026-09-13, against three televisions, and every line its log writes was checked against the walls that day. The dry run still writes nothing, and everything it does is logged to %LOCALAPPDATA%\SubMakersBoards\launch.log and setup.log.
